What is a Clamped Sports Field?
A clamped sports field is constructed by assembling the molds using clamps instead of welding. The clamp is made from a special casting material and applied to the field area.
Clamped sports fields are among the safest types of sports fields. These fields, enclosed by wires on all four sides and reinforced with thick iron structures, provide a high level of security despite their slightly complex construction process. The clamp, which gives the field its name, is a type of cast iron material used as the primary structural element. It ensures the horizontal and vertical molds are firmly connected and secured without welding.
The first step in constructing a clamped sports field is determining the area where the field will be built. Next, the stability of the ground is examined. Once the ground is confirmed to be solid, various rollers are placed. The excavation points are marked, and the designated areas are dug before pouring concrete. After allowing the concrete to dry, a mold is installed, and another layer of concrete, known as tie beam concrete, is poured over it. These are the key construction stages of clamped sports fields.
Clamped Sports Field Installation
First, the ground where the clamped sports field will be constructed is leveled and compacted using rollers. Excavation is carried out with a JSB machine for the tie beam concrete, and foundation concrete is poured into the excavated area. A 25 cm x 50 cm mold is installed, reinforcement bars are placed inside, and anchor pipes are positioned between the reinforcement bars before pouring the tie beam concrete.
Once the tie beam is completed, crushed stone is poured in layers, following the sequence of sizes 4, 3, and 2, up to the level of the tie beam concrete. The vertical posts are H:600 cm high, with dimensions of 76×3 mm, while the horizontal supports are 60×2 mm. The entire system is oven-painted, and the clamps (which are cast materials) are installed without welding.
The purpose of the clamp is to connect the vertical and horizontal molds without welding, using cast material for secure attachment.
